SENIOR STAFF

Atlantic employs a professional staff of about 20 full-time employees in its Boston office. Of those employees, senior staff includes the following:

Peter Hooper Ph.D
Mr. Peter Hooper, Ph.D. is Founder and Chairman of Atlantic. He has over 25 years of experience in marketing and opinion research and has held positions in both the public and private sectors, as well as in academe. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Connecticut. Immediately prior to founding Atlantic in 1981, Peter was Director of Management Information Systems for the Auditor of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. He also served as Deputy Director of the Mayor’s (Boston) Office of Survey Research, and as Assistant Professor of Political Science at Northeastern University, where he taught courses in survey research and applied statistics. Peter’s responsibilities with Atlantic now focus on marketing and sales-related issues, but he remains involved in research activities, focusing on research design and analysis issues. Peter also provides moderating services for focus group projects.

Kelly Basile
Ms. Kelly Basile is President of Atlantic. Kelly was appointed to this position after serving as Vice President of Research, Project Director and as Director of Information Systems since coming to Atlantic in 1997. Prior to joining Atlantic, Kelly served as a Research Analyst for Opinion Dynamics. Kelly was also formerly employed as a Substance Abuse Clinician at the Bay Cove Treatment Center in Boston. Kelly holds a BA Degree from Boston College, an M.S.W. Degree from Boston University and is currently an MBA candidate at Babson College. In her current role at Atlantic, Kelly is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Atlantic’s business operations, with particular attention to project management and analytical issues. It is Kelly's job to work with project managers to keep clients informed about project progress, inform them about special issues associated with the project and work with them to resolve project problems. Kelly is also responsible for analyzing project results and preparing reports for client decision-making. Finally, Kelly provides moderating and other focus group services for many qualitative projects.

Elaine Becker
Ms. Elaine Becker is Vice President for Administration. Elaine, a ten-year veteran at Atlantic, was recently appointed to her position after having served in a Director’s capacity for internal office operations, financial management and human resources. In her current capacity, Elaine oversees all office operations, vendor relationships and secretarial staff. She is responsible, also, for managing the company’s finances and working closely with its external accounting firm. Finally, Elaine is responsible for overseeing Atlantic’s human resources activities, keeping the company up-to-date on state and federal government policies and working with the company’s department heads regarding personnel issues.

Michael Gowell
Michael is Senior Manager of Data Collection. Michael was appointed to this position in 2000 after having served as an interviewer and then supervisor in the same department for over two years. Michael's responsibilities at Atlantic require him to oversee all call center operations and staff, as well as to assure clients of the highest quality data collection standards and procedures by working closely with the Client Relationship Managers. Michael is also responsible for Atlantic's interviewer training program. In addition, Michael handles all vendor relationships for national intercept survey projects.

Seth Hardy
Seth Hardy is Senior Project Director at Atlantic. Seth has a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Creative Writing from Emerson College. Before taking his current position, Seth served as a Project Manager for four years and has also held the positions of Senior Manager of Data Collection and, prior to that, Manager of Data Collection. In his current role, Seth is responsible for overseeing all data collection activities, as well as keeping clients informed about project progress, informing them about special issues associated with the project and working with them to resolve project problems. He interacts with clients from project initiation through data analysis and presentation of study results.

Erica Nelson
Erica Nelson is Director of Information Services at Atlantic. She has a Bachelor of Science degree from Bryant College, with a concentration in marketing. In the two years before taking her current position, Erica served as Research Analyst, as well as Project Manager. In her current role, Erica manages the data processing and analytical staff. She oversees all CATI programming, sample management, web survey projects, and cross-tabular analysis. Erica is also responsible for the design, programming and oversight of Atlantic's web survey projects.

Costas Pavlides
Costas serves as Senior Account Director at Atlantic having recently moved from the role of Project Manager. Costas joined the Atlantic team from Meinrad Consulting in 2003 and holds a BA in Marketing from Dublin Institute of Technology. In his current role, Costas serves as a dedicated account contact for one of Atlantic's largest clients and oversees all project related activities for that client. Costas is responsible for a large amount of Atlantic's web based research and was also very involved in developing our website usability testing capabilities.
